Safety is No.1 at CAKE

Safety is No.1 at Cake and we believe potential accidents or near misses can be avoided by following these key important points:

  • ‍Zero Harm is our only target
  • ‍Each employee must understand personal responsibilities under Health & Safety Act (HSWA)

EVERYONE IS RESPONSIBLE. Workers take reasonable care for their own health and safety and that their actions don’t adversely affect the health and safety of others. They must also follow any reasonable health and safety instruction given to them by the business and cooperate with any reasonable business policy or procedure relating to health and safety in the workplace.”

– Health and Safety at Work Act 2015*

  • We ensure that each of our staff understands all Safety Rules – rules are clearly explained upon induction and discussed as a matter of priority during Weekly/Daily Pre-Start Planning (safety practices are also covered during their Individual Performance Reviews)
  • ‍Our employees are made aware of the consequences of breaching Safety Rules (subjected to disciplinary action)
  • ‍Safety is explained thoroughly, most specially during the first few weeks on the job
  • Everyone has the authority to stop what they are doing if safety is compromised
  • ‍Be a Safety leader! Our staff are always reminded to stay safe first and look out for their mates!

As Safety is our top priority, Cake is proud to be a certified OHSAS 18001:2007 which is the International Standards for Occupational Health & Safety Management Systems.
