Cake Group have proudly provided Transmission Tower Painting Services to Transpower New Zealand as part of an ongoing partnership. Transpower own and operate the National Grid, a nationwide transmission network which connects areas of power generation to towns and cities across New Zealand via 11,803 kilometers of high-voltage line.
Over the past 8 years Cake have successfully carried out the complete refurbishment of hundreds of these Transmission Towers throughout the country.
The process involves the installation of earth plates, minor steel replacement, bolt replacement and torquing, high pressure water blasting, wet abrasive blasting, and the application of a 3 coat Protective Coating.
Our team is highly trained in working at heights and in energised zones, and have completed specialised training and certifications to ensure that they can complete their work on the Towers with safety and quality as the absolute focus.
Cake's involvement with Transpower has been greatly rewarding thus far.
