Cake are proud to have recently completed the fire protection package on the 309 Broadway, Newmarket project. Scentre Group engaged Cake to carry out the Intumescent Coating of areas within the newly developed Westfield Shopping Centre in Newmarket, Auckland.

Westfield Newmarket is New Zealand’s largest shopping centre by retail space (88,150m2), and is planned to contain more than 200 stores over 5 levels including supermarkets and high-end department stores. For Cake, the large scale project has involved the application of specialised Intumescent and Cementitious Coatings to the structural steelwork. Working to strict deadlines the Coating process included the application of AkzoNobel interchar 1260, 2060, 3120 and Moncratte MK6.

Westfield Newmarket stands to be New Zealand’s premiere retail space, and Cake are proud to have provided our services and contributed to its development. The project was ran in a very professional and collaborative manner, and we’d like to give thanks to everyone at Scentre Group for making this project so successful.
